Options for
Paying Your Property Tax Bill
- In person during office hours, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm
Monday-Friday (In observation of the holidays our offices will
be CLOSED Friday, Dec. 23, Monday, Dec. 26, Friday, Dec. 30,
and Monday, Jan. 2).
- By mail - Elkhorn City Treasurer, 9 S Broad St, PO Box 920,
Elkhorn, WI 53121.
- Drop box outside City Hall at 9 S Broad St.
- Credit Card - For a nominal fee, you can pay by credit card by
going on line at
http://www.officialpayments.com or call (800) 272-9829
(Jurisdiction Code #5869).
- On-line Bill Pay-Check with your financial institution for
details.
To assist in processing your payment, please include the tax key
number(s) on all checks and endorse escrow checks made out to both the
City and yourself. As noted on your tax bill, checks should be
made payable to:
- Elkhorn City Treasurer if paid by January 31, 2012
- Walworth County Treasurer if paid after January 31, 2012
We will credit payments, unless otherwise noted, to 2011 if
post-marked by Dec. 31, 2011, or if received in our office or
drop box on or before Jan. 3, 2012. The City does not accept
post-dated checks. It will be returned if staff notices it,
otherwise it will be processed the day it is received.
If you would like a receipt mailed, please enclose a
self-addressed stamped business size envelope with your payment.
Please Note: Payments for your utility bill and/or dog/cat
licenses can not be included in your property tax payment.
Address Changes
A new form for address changes for tax bill and assessment
purposes only has been created by the Walworth County Register
of Deeds. All requests to change a mailing address must be
submitted in writing by the property owner.
