Season Memberships
All membership cards must be purchased at the Recreation Center
at Sunset Park.

Family Memberships include four family members, residing at
same address.
Additional family members are $10 for residents and $20 for
non-residents.
Non-residents are persons living outside city limits.

Rentals
(Municipal Pool at Sunset Park)
The Municipal Pool can be rented for birthday parties, company
summer parties, family gatherings, organization events and other
activities. A lifeguard will be present, and participants do not
need pool passes.

8:30am - 11:30am and
8:15pm - 10:00pm
Rental Rates
$50 per hour for a group of 50 or less
$65 per hour for a group of 51-75
$80 per hour for a group of 76 or over
To check a date for rental please call (262)741-5114. No
reservations will be taken over the phone. If you would like
to book a date, you need to come to the Parks & Recreation Office.
Full payment is required at the time of the booking.
Adult Lap Swim
This program is designed to provide adults with the opportunity
to exercise and stay fit. All levels of ability are welcome as
supervision is provided.

Pool Rules
(Municipal Pool at Sunset Park)
- Swimming without lifeguards is prohibited.
- Obey lifeguard instructions at all times.
- Shower before entering pool.
- No one should engage in unnecessary conversations with
lifeguards on duty.
- No open sores and infections-contagious diseases are allowed
in pool area.
- No running, pushing, or horse playing are permitted.
- No sitting or hanging on lane lines.
- Smoking, eating and drinking on deck or in changing areas is
prohibited.
- No alcoholic beverages or chewing gum allowed.
- Do not bring animals into the pool area.
- Floatation devices are not allowed.
- Swimsuits only, no clothing of any kind in the pool.
- Swimmers need to stay out of the diving well.
- Dive only in designated deep water areas.
- Ladders are for entrance and exit from the pool only.
- Riding on another person’s back or shoulders will not be
tolerated.
- Throwing or diving for objects is prohibited.
- No assisted swimming or breathing devices, fins and
snorkels.
- No back dives or back flips anywhere in pool area.
- Never climb on lifeguard stands.
- Lawn chairs, strollers, coolers, are not allowed in pool
area.
- To be able to swim in the deep water and use the diving
boards, one must first demonstrate the ability to swim the
length of the pool.
- One person at a time on the diving boards.
- Make sure area is clear of previous patrons before diving
off the board.
- Do not sit on the board.
- Carefully walk to the end of the board, take only one
bounce, and then go forward straight off the end of the board.
- To exit the diving well use the closest ladder.
Swim
Lessons (Elkhorn High School Pool)
All Parks and Recreation Department swim classes are designed
to teach individuals how to swim more proficiently using each
participant’s current abilities. Our instructors encourage
participants performance through positive interaction based on
student comfort in a safe and fun aquatic environment. The fee for
all swimming lessons are $20 (resident) and $30 (non-resident).
Those people residing in the Elkhorn Area School District
will be considered residents for all programs held at the Elkhorn
High School Pool. Classes are held at the
Elkhorn High School Pool. All lessons will be held on Saturdays.
Aqua Tots
(ages 6 months –4years)
Parent and child class that introduces children to the pool and
helps acclimate them to the water. Parents learn how to encourage
and coach their children in learning basic swim techniques.
Parental involvement is required.
Swim Tots
(ages 3 & 4)
Children will learn to be comfortable in the water through play
and basic swimming skills. This class is held without a parent in
the water.
Level One
(ages 5 & older)
Introduction to Water Skills
Skills include: enter & exit water safely, submerge mouth ,
nose & eyes, exhale under water through mouth and nose, open eyes
underwater & pick up submerged object, float on front and back,
explore arm and hand movements, swim on front and back, using arm
and leg actions, follow basic water safety rules and use a life
jacket.
Level Two
(ages 6 & older)
Fundamentals of Aquatic Skills
Prerequisites: swimmer must have passed Level 1, or be able to
perform a front float, and swim on front and back using arm and
leg actions. Skills include: enter water by stepping or jumping
from the side, exit water from ladder safely, submerge entire
head, open eyes underwater & pick up submerged object, float on
front & back, back to front, tread water using arm and leg
motions, swim on front & back using combined strokes, swim on
side, and move in the water while wearing a life jacket.
Level Three
Stroke Development
Prerequisites: swimmer must have passed Level 2, or can float
on front and back, swim 15 yards of front and back crawls, using
kick and alternating arm movement and can perform rhythmic
breathing. Skills include: jump into deep water from side, dive
from kneeling and standing position, submerge and retrieve object,
bob with head fully submerged, use rotary breathing in horizontal
position, perform front and back glide, perform survival float,
change from front crawl, butterfly kick and body motion, perform
HELP and huddle position, perform reaching assist and use
Check-Call-Care in an emergency.
