When will my brush be collected?

April 1st, 2008 marks the beginning for Spring Brush Collection.  Brush will be collected during April, May, June, October and November 2008. In addition to the specific months for the collection, the City will be broken into four (4) sections with each section having the brush collected different weeks. The collection schedule is designed that the start of the collections for that month will be during the first full week of the month. The quadrants are divided by the intersection of Walworth and Wisconsin Streets. The schedule is as follows:

  • First full week (collection begins on Tuesday) of the month – northeast quadrant (includes residents on both sides of N. Wisconsin and E. Walworth streets)
  • Second full week (collection begins on Tuesday) of the month – southeast quadrant (includes residents on both sides of S. Wisconsin and south of E. Walworth)
  • Third full week (collection begins on Tuesday) of the month – southwest quadrant (includes residents on both sides of W. Walworth Street and west of Wisconsin)
  • Fourth full week (collection begins on Tuesday) of the month – northwest quadrant (includes residents within the boundary of W. Walworth and N. Wisconsin streets)
  • Christmas trees will be collected on January 5-9, 2009 by the City, not Veolia.

Costs for brush removal:

Brush located at the curbside for pickup according to the scheduled program and  the rules will be collected and chipped without charge. If the crew has to return and chip the brush because it was not out by the prescribed time, or at the discretion of the City the brush goes beyond homeowner normal pruning and trimming, a charge will be applied as follows:

  • First ten minutes of chipping - $30
  • Any chipping after will be at a rate of $50 per ten minute increments up to one hour

Residents may call the Public Works office at (262)723-2223 to schedule an appointment for a special brush collection. The fee is as follows:

  • First ten minutes of chipping - $30
