Yard Waste and
Grass Clippings
A dumpster, located at the City Garage inside the fenced-in
area adjacent to North Washington Street, will be available to the
residents to bring in their yard waste and grass clippings. This
dumpster will be available on Wednesdays and Saturdays starting on
May 3rd through October 29th, 2008. Saturday hours are 10:00am to
2:00pm and on Wednesdays from 8:00am to 5:00pm. Yard waste
accepted are the following: Leaves, vegetables, and grass
clippings; Yard/garden debris and brush - including clean, woody
vegetative material no greater than three inches in diameter.
Stumps, roots or shrubs with intact root balls are not yard waste
and will not be accepted. City workers will be on-site.
Yard waste placed in containers meeting the following
requirements can be composted:
- 30 gallon paper bags (sold at hardware stores)
- Dry cardboard boxes not larger than three by three feet
- Tightly bundle tree limbs and branches no greater than three
inches in diameter and four feet in length, bundled with twine
(not wire or nylon)
Plastic bags are prohibited.
