Customer accounts and billing information for electric, water
and sewer are available at City Hall, 9 S. Broad Street. Call
(262)723-2910 for billing questions.
How to apply for service
Applications/Forms must be obtained and completed at City Hall and a form of
identification such as a Driver’s License or State ID card is
necessary. To transfer existing service into another name for
Elkhorn Light & Water, a Utility Service Application needs to be
completed. For new construction service, a New Construction
Account Application needs to be completed. All Applications/Forms must be obtained
and completed at City Hall.
Three ways to pay your utility bill
Utility Bills
are sent out the last working day of each month for the previous
month’s consumption. The City offers the following methods of
paying utility bills:

By mail, drop off at City Hall during office hours, or use the
drop box located at the main entrance of City Hall;

Direct Payment Plan allows the customer to have their utility
bill payment automatically deducted from his or her checking or
savings account. A Debit Authorization Agreement is available at
City Hall;

Credit Card payments are accepted through Official Payments
Corporation via telephone at (800)2PAY-TAX [(800)272-9829] or
online by clicking here. Please
include jurisdiction code 5869. There is a nominal fee charged
for this service. The City cannot accept credit card payments
at the counter.
Having difficulties paying your utility bill?
The City of Elkhorn would like to suggest making weekly or
bi-weekly payments on your account in addition to your monthly
payment. If you continue to need assistance contact Community Action, Inc. Elkhorn Light and Water
works with Community Action to assist customers with bill payments
when financial difficulties exist. Customers can apply for
assistance through this program at (262)728-8296.
- You will be asked to provide a copy of your utility bill
and income verification for the past three months.
Your efforts to make payments during the moratorium will be
taken into consideration, as funds may need to be
distributed on a limited basis.
