Rummage, yard or Garage
Sales
When summertime arrives, many residents think of cleaning out
their garages, basements and attics. As a result, many hold
rummage, yard or garage sales. The City would like to remind
residents of the rules and regulations concerning such sales.
Sales are permitted within the City limits. A sale cannot
continue more that 3 days or parts of days consecutively. Sales
by any individual or upon any premises are permitted only 3
times within any calendar year. Signs should be posted on
private property and not on utility poles or in the City
terraces.
SUNSHINE, GOOD WEATHER BRING OUT TRANSIENT MERCHANTS
The ice cream truck, shrimp truck and door-to-door salesmen all
need to have a Transient Merchant
license issued by the City of Elkhorn. If someone is in your
neighborhood selling a product, you have a right
to ask for their license. If they don’t have one, they may be in
violation. If you are a transient merchant and
considering Elkhorn as a place to do business
