Collection Program Guidelines

  • Refuse and recycling must be curbside by 6:00 a.m. on your designated collection day, refer to the route map.
  • On your service day, containers should be placed 3 feet apart & 3 feet from any obstruction. (Walking between containers is a good rule of thumb, or place one container on the left side of the driveway and the other container on the right side.)
  • All refuse/recycling materials must be INSIDE of the carts, waste or bags outside of the carts will NOT be taken.
  • On holiday weeks LRS operates on a one-day delay, when the holiday FALLS ON A WEEKDAY.  Refer to annual calendar

Solid Waste

Your refuse cart will be serviced every week based on the annual calendar. Solid waste is what most of us think of as “refuse”, “trash” or “garbage” that is produced at home, work or leisure. This category does NOT include any of the recyclable items listed below, any household hazardous waste, liquid latex paint, yard waste, appliances or electronics. Walworth County offers a “Clean Sweep” program where you can drop off select items twice a year that LRS will not pickup, such as electronics, televisions, tires, etc.  For more information, please visit their website at: https://www.co.walworth.wi.us/826/Clean-Sweep

***IMPORTANT NOTE***:  These items are not allowed and will not be handled by LRS for curbside pickup:

  • NO HAZARDOUS GOODS: flammable materials such as oil, gas or paint, batteries, household hazardous waste, banned electronic waste, engine parts or tires.
  • NO YARD WASTE: grass clippings, leaves, branches, soil, dirt, sod, hot ashes, etc.
  • NO CONSTRUCTION DEBRIS: concrete, rock, demolition debris, large construction waste items.

Bulk Item Service

  • Two (2) bulk items are included per home each month. Residents must call/email at least 48 hours in advance of monthly bulk pick-up day to schedule. Refer to the annual calendar for which week Bulk Items are collected each month of the year. Bulk Items are collected on your designated collection day, refer to route map. No freon appliances, no tires, no waste oil, no electronics, no waste liquids, no batteries. If you require bulk item service beyond the two included each month, see pay-per-item option below.  Again, two items are ALLOWED at no additional cost for each resident.  Please contact LRS by calling 608.580.0580 or email bltownservice@lrsrecycles.com.
  • Bulk “pay-per-item” option is available year-round. Please call 608.580.0580 or email bltownservice@lrsrecycles.com to arrange services.
