Incident #: 24-1553 Type: Double Homicide

Narrative
On Thursday, February 1, 2024, at approximately 12:11 AM, the Walworth County Sheriff’s Office received a 9-1-1 call for a report of shots fired and a person down inside the Sports Page Barr, located at 29 ½ S. Wisconsin Street, Elkhorn. Officers from the Elkhorn Police Department and Walworth County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched and upon arrival discovered the bodies of a male and female inside the bar, who had suffered fatal gunshot wounds.
Identities of the victims are being withheld, pending notification of next of kin.
This incident is currently under investigation and there is no further information available at this time. The Elkhorn Police Department is being assisted by the Walworth County Sheriff’s Office, Walworth County Medical Examiner’s Office, Wisconsin State Crime Lab, and Wisconsin State Patrol in this investigation. In addition, officers from the Town of Geneva, City of Delavan and Town of Delavan Police Departments initially responded to assist along with the Elkhorn Area Fire Department EMS.
