Finance/Treasurer
The City Treasurer is responsible for the accounting, reporting and management of the City’s financial activities, including the electric, water, sewer and solid waste utilities. Daily activities include accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, general ledger, cash management, account analysis and budgetary and accounting control. To view the current year budget, use the link at the bottom of the page. Copies are also available at both City Hall and Matheson Memorial Library.
The City Treasurer is responsible for collection of tax payments. Tax Bills are mailed out mid-December to property owners following the approval of the City budget. The first payment or payment in full is due to the City of Elkhorn by January 31 of each year. Any remaining balance is paid to the Walworth County Treasurer by July 31 of each year. You may view your property tax bill online on the Walworth County website.
