Seeking members for the Historic Preservation Commission

The City of Elkhorn Common Council is seeking five citizen members for the Historic Preservation Commission. Citizen members shall have an interest in local history and historic preservation. Pursuant to City Code, it is recommended that of the five citizen members at least two be either: a registered or graduate architect; a local historian, with qualifications in historic preservation, architectural history, art history or history; or a licensed real estate broker and/or appraiser. The Historic Preservation Commission was established to safeguard the City's historic and cultural heritage; stabilize and improve property values; promote civic pride in the beauty and noble accomplishments of the past; protect and enhance the City for its residents, tourists and visitors for education, pleasure and general welfare; and to strengthen the economy of the City.
