Utility Rates

Utility Rates for Electric and Water are established by the Wisconsin Public Service Commission.  The Sewer rate is established by the City Council.  For a simple rates table please make a selection below.

Electric Rates – Effective July 1, 2012

Power Cost Adjustment Clause (PCAC): All metered rates shall be subject to a positive or negative power cost adjustment charge equivalent to the amount by which the current cost of power (per kilowatt-hour of sales) is greater or lesser than the base cost of power purchased (per kilowatt-hour of sales) 

Residential Service–Rg-1: This rate will be applied to residential single-phase customers for ordinary household purposes. Single-phase motors may not exceed 5 horsepower individual-rated capacity without utility permission.

Residential Service: Optional Time-of-Day Rg-2:  This rate schedule is optional to all Rg-1, Residential Service customers.  Customers that wish to be served on this rate schedule must apply to the utility for service.  Once an optional customer begins service on this rate schedule, the customer shall remain on the rate for a minimum of one year.  Any customer choosing to be served on this rate schedule waives all rights to billing adjustments arising from a claim that the bill for service would be less on another rate schedule than under this rate schedule.

General Service–Gs-1: This rate will be applied to single and three-phase customers. This includes commercial, institutional, governmental, farm and other customers. The monthly Maximum Measured Demand of customers served on this rate shall not exceed 75 kilowatts for three or more months in a consecutive 12-month period. Gs-1 customers shall be transferred into the appropriate demand class as soon as the application conditions of that class have been met.

General Service-Optional Time-of-Day Gs-2:  This rate schedule is optional tp a;; Gs-1, General Service customers.  Customers that wish to be served on this rate schedule must apply to the utility for service.  Once an optional customer begins service on this rate schedule, the customer shall remain on the rate for a minimum of one year.  Any customer choosing to be served on this rate schedule waives all rights to billing adjustments arising from a claim that the bill for service would be less on another rate schedule than under this rate schedule.

Small Power Service–Cp-1: This rate will be applied to customers for all types of service if their monthly Maximum Measured Demand is in excess of 75 kilowatts (kW) per month for three or more months in a consecutive 12-month period unless the customer exceeds the application conditions of the large power time-of-day schedule.

Small Power-Optional Time-of-Day Cp-1 TOD:  This rate schedule is optional to all Cp-1 customers.  Customers that wish to be served on this rate schedule must apply to the utility for service.  Once an optional customer begins service on this rate schedule, the customer shall remain on the rate for a minimum of one year.  Any customer choosing to be served on this rate schedule waives all rights to billing adjustments arising from a claim that the bill for service would be less on another rate schedule than under this rate schedule.

Larger Power Time-of-Day Service Cp-2:  This rate will be applied to customers for all types of service, if their monthly Maximum Measured Demand is in excess of 200 kilowatts (kW) per month for three or more months in a consecutive 12-month period, but not greater than 1,000 kW per month for three or more months in a consecutive 12-month period.

Industrial Power Time-of-Day Service Cp-3:  This rate will be applied to customers for all types of service if their monthly Maximum Measured Demand is in excess of 1,000 kW per month for three or more months in a consecutive 12-month period.

Public Fire Protection Service – F-1

Public fire protection service includes the use of hydrants for fire protection service only and such quantities of water as may be demanded for the purpose of extinguishing fires within the service area. This service shall also include water used for testing equipment and training personnel. For all other purposes, the metered or other rates set forth, or as may be filed with the Public Service Commission, shall apply.

Non-Standard Meter Service (NSM-1)

The utility shall assess a charge of $20.31 per month to a customer who is provided service under Schedule Mg-1 and who requests a non-standard meter. The utility may only charge a customer one NSM charge for customers with both water and electric services.
